  • Monday evening, during rush hour

What Happened:

  • Shane Tamura, a 27-year-old from Las Vegas, opened fire with an assault-style rifle
  • Killed 4 people, including:
    • Didarul Islam, 36-year-old NYPD officer and Bangladeshi immigrant
    • Two men and one woman (identities not yet released)
  • 1 critically injured, fighting for life in hospital
  • Gunman shot himself fatally on the 33rd floor

Suspect Info:

  • Shane Tamura, had a history of mental illness
  • Drove cross-country from Las Vegas to NYC
  • No significant criminal record
